Diddy, formerly known as P Diddy and Puff Daddy, thinks that British hip-hop ‘is on the verge of breaking” in the US charts.  Having worked with UK acts Tinie Tempah, Chipmunk and Skepta this is what he had to say

“I’ve always been abreast and respected the UK hip-hop scene and I look forward to great things,” he told BBC News. “I think in the past maybe some of the UK hip-hop artists weren’t as authentic to where they come from,” he said.  ”It’s all right to be from the UK and it’s all right to talk about what you want to talk about and not try to sound or be like somebody from the US.”

There is now a “self-pride in UK hip-hop”, he continued. “That’s the starting point. Hip-hop respects something that’s authentic……Just like the way in the US it took time for the south and the west coast to break, it’s the same thing and I just think that UK hip-hop is on the verge of breaking.”

In related news, Diddy plays a record label boss in movie Get Him To the Greek, which features comedian Russell Brand as wayward rock star Aldous Snow and is out in the UK on 25 June.

Diddy is relaunching his real-life music career by forming a new group called Diddy – Dirty Money, who release their new single Hello Good Morning on Monday.

P Diddy speaks on his dominance of hip-hop, fashion and charity in a recent interview!

In true Diddy fashion, he states he was the first to do many things and people followed. He told XXL Mag: “I was the first on the jet. I was the first running the marathon. I was the first donating millions of dollars. I was the first. I was the first with the 10 million records sold. I was the first with the label. I was the first with the renegotiations. F**k a Forbes list. I was on the cover of Forbes.

“There is going to be someone that will pass me, but as long as I’m on the court, they are not going to be badder than me, because there is too much catching up to do.

“There is not one motherf**a that’s here now who is going to outwork me. That is not going to happen, not right now. Maybe if I slow down, but to this day, no one can f**k with me when it comes to getting busy and working.”

It’s been nearly four years, but Diddy is back and ready to drop a new album on us.

Last Train To Paris is the name of the forthcoming album and will be released under the name Diddy-Dirty Money, with his two band members.  He’s racking up quite a collection!

Artists featured on this new project include Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, T.I., Swizz Beatz and Bilal – seems like everyone right?

Diddy told Rap-up.com: “We have most of the game that called excited about being on the album. It doesn’t sound feature heavy. They sound like they’re a part of the movement and part of the sound. I think this is one of my best albums and I’m truly blessed to have these two queens [Dawn and Kalenna] beside me.”

He added: “You get to tell a story—it’s a love story about finding love, losing love, and getting it back again. I’m a man, I can’t tell a woman’s side. These are two beautiful, courageous young women and they tell the truth on the album. I think this is an album that’s innovative, creative, and exciting, and it’s something the game needs.”

Diddy wasn’t spotted by prison guards of Rikers Island Prison as he went to visit Lil Wayne in prison, it’s been revealed.

A source at the rapper’s Prison told MTV News US that the a-list rapper and mogul simply went unnoticed. The source said: “No one knew [he was here] until it was time for him to leave. You know, also, a lot of the time people don’t want to seem like they’re stargazers, the officers.” Of Lil Wayne’s time inside the same source said: “It’s just day-to-day business, nothing different than anything else.

 “You got to understand, this is a different type of atmosphere. It’s not like the prisons where you go upstate, to Sing Sing or places like that. This is a medium-security [population], not maximum security.”

 Earlier this week the Lollipop star- whose real name is Dwayne Carter- was caught with an MP3 player and headphones in his cell.

P Diddy took to his P Twitty TV channel to speak out on the recent controversy surrounding his Vodka company, Ciroc Vodka.
