Lohan, 24, appeared in front of a judge before being handcuffed and led away to start her 90-day sentence. She is being locked up for violating probation after drink-driving but may be free in just 23 days because of prison overcrowding.

An observer at the Beverly Hills court said: “It looked for all the world as though she had collagen implants….”She walked in as though she was working the red carpet and it was clear she wanted to look her best.”

Lohan has told friends she’s terrified at the prospect of imprisonment. And she hinted at her jitters in one of her final Twitter messages, which read: “The only ‘bookings’ I’m familiar with are Disney Films, never thought that I’d be ‘booking’ into Jail… eeeks.”

Lohan’s 90-day sentence could be reduced to just over three weeks and she could be out of jail in time for the premiere of Machete, the action-thriller opening Sept. 3 that stars Lohan.

Samantha Ronson has publicly defended Lindsay Lohan against Joan Rivers this weekend as Joan had a go at Lindsay on Twitter on Friday in a series of posts in regards to her ‘message’ painted on her nail during her sentencing last week.

“Lindsay Lohan is so dumb,” the 77-year-old stand up tweeted. “Her idea of being sworn in is cursing at the judge.”

“Lindsay Lohan had ‘F— you’ painted on her nails,” she tweeted. “What people don’t know is that the judge had ‘Eat me you party sk—,’ painted on hers.”

A few hours later, DJ Samantha Ronson, Lindsay’s former on-off again girlfriend, took to Twitter to respond.

“Hey Joan Rivers,” she tweeted. “You have collagen older than Lindsay, pick on someone your own age, oh wait I guess people that old can’t hear”

The DJ’s support did not go unmissed. Lohan re-tweeted her ex’s message on Saturday and added the note, “thank you I love yams x .”

TMZ have just reported that Lindsay Lohan will serve 90 days in jail for violating her probation in a DUI case dating back to 2007.  Lohan will also have to attend a 90-day rehab course and remain on probation in order to help her get back ‘on course’

The troubled actress – who currently has to wear an alcohol-monitoring SCRAM bracelet as part of her probation for her 2007 driving under the influence (DUI) arrest – will appear in the as-yet-untitled show alongside mother Dina and her three siblings.

Dina told the New York Post newspaper: “We have already started filming. The cameras follow us in our daily lives and as we promote our businesses. I want to prove that we are a good, hardworking family and we don’t have the crazy lives that some people claim we do.

‘The show will feature my kids, and Lindsay will also appear in some episodes, although she’s very busy filming and promoting her fashion lines. We’re discussing a deal with a major network.”

While the programme will feature most of the family, Lindsay’s estranged father Michael – who is divorced from Dina – will not appear.

This is not time the Lohan family have appeared in front of reality TV cameras.

In 2008 ‘Living Lohan’ – which mainly focused on Lindsay’s 16-year-old sister Ali’s attempts to break into showbusiness – aired for nine episodes and Dina claimed to have turned down a second series because of the producers’ demands.

She said: ‘They wanted us to do these crazy things, like my son cheating on his girlfriend, me faking a pregnancy. I was like, ‘No, no, no! They had ideas that weren’t conducive to our ideas

It’s official – Lindsay’s new girlfriend is photographer 36-year-old Indrani!!

Also known as Julia I. Pal-Chaudhuri – Indrani spoke to the New York Post saying: “We have been spending a lot of time together. I have never had a relationship with a woman before, but Lindsay is just somebody who I find fascinating, gorgeous and extremely smart, as well as super-hot.

‘Lindsay gets a lot of bad press, but she’s a really strong, creative woman and is trying really hard to get her life in a good, positive place.”

The couple have been on a series of dates in Los Angeles and recently spent the night together at the actress’ hotel.

Markus Klinko, Indrani’s photography partner thinks they are good for each other. He said: “Lindsay and Indrani have been seeing each other since we shot her last fall. I’ve seen them on dates, I have seen them making out…..Indrani is a good influence on Lindsay. She is the opposite of a party girl – a Princeton graduate; she’s into art and is a philanthropist – not what you’d expect the typical girl for Lindsay to go out with.

Trouble in Lohan Land…

Lindsay missed another court case and Judge Marsha Revel has issued a bench warrant at the Beverly Hills Courthouse for Lindsay Lohan’s arrest!!

Lindsay’s lawyer claims she missed the court appearence due to her passport being stolen in Cannes, where she is rigth now. With bail has been set at $100,000 so if Lindsay does post bail, its known that some of the stipulations would include no alcohol until she has a formal probation hearing also being  fitted with a Scram device [Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor] and random drug testing at least once a week.
