Lady Gaga’s Born This Way IS number one in the Official Albums Chart with the biggest selling first week for an album of 2011 so far (over 215,000 sales, more than the rest of the Top 10 combined.)

Lady Gaga stated

“I feel so honored…. I wrote the album’s first single Born This Way in Manchester because I was so inspired by the confidence and bravery characteristic of my fans: Little Monsters. To the United Kingdom, thank you for believing in me.”

Following the release of her album ‘Born This Way’ this week, Lady Gaga continues her quest to take the record to the top with June’s issue of Rolling Stone magazine.

Sunday night, Beyoncé was honored by great public figures including First Lady Michelle Obama, singing legend Barbra Streisand, pop star Lady Gaga, U2 frontman Bono, the incomparable Stevie Wonder and her family in a moving tribute video followed by a show stopping performance. Lady Gaga gives us all a bit of a treat with an early release of her eagerly – anticipated new single Judas yesterday. Produced by RedOne what you think about the song?

Lady Gaga admitted to Harper’s she tried to be a part of  Hollywood when she initially became famous, but hated it.

I had all these number-one records, and I had sold all these albums, and it was sort of this turning point: “Am I going to try and embrace Hollywood and assimilate to that culture?…..I put my toe in that water, and it was a Kegel-exercise vaginal reaction where I clenched and had to retract immediately. I ran furiously back to New York, to my old apartment, and I hung out with my friends, and I went to the same bars…..’

On talking about her new look she goes on to add:

 Other pop stars who have had plastic surgery are harmful and promote insecurity… but my horns are just artistic…’

 

On speaking about her friend Alexander McQueen, Gaga explains her belief  that he [Alexander] is in fact living on through her music.  Gaga claims evidence of this is seen as her label released the new single on the year anniversary of  his death!

I think he planned the whole thing: Right after he died, I wrote Born This Way,’ the singer says. I think he’s up in heaven with fashion strings in his hands, marionetting away, planning this whole thing.’
