The new single is at the top of the U.S. Billboard charts taking Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ off the top spot.

The forthcoming ‘E.T.’ video will launch on YouTube on March 31st and will also feature Kanye West.

In related news Kanye West has won a court battle after claims that he had copied his track ‘Stronger’ from a song given to him by an unsigned artist. Judge Virginia Kendall dismissed the case after finding that the songs were not similar enough to accuse West of copyright infringement.

Kanye’s video “Monster” has been banned by MTV as the network responded to feminine activists Sharon Haywood and Melinda Tankard’s petition and agreed not to air the video!

“The mainstreaming of videos like this increases desensitized and callous attitudes toward violence against women,” said Reist, one of the campaign originators. “Young people are seeing images and absorbing harmful messages which glamorise misogyny and brutalise women. Women are reduced to sex-doll like playthings. So great is the level of desensitization that the barbaric treatment of women and girls is seen as normal and to be expected. We decided to run this campaign because we wanted to challenge the status quo.”

Kanye West hit the headlines once more as last night, he tweeted what could be considered an offensive remark about abortions….

Pop singer Lil Allen retweeted Kanye’s comment and then wrote:

“Never has a tweet put me in such a bad mood. This is wrong on so many levels.”

LaChappelle, one of the fashion industry’s most respected fashion photographers is suing Rihanna as her S&M video was “directly derived” from his pictures.

LaChapelle, who has photographed celebrities – Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Chris Rock and Madonna, for magazines such as Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone, is suing for unspecified damages.

LaChappelle said Rihanna has appropriated eight of his images into the video, including one where she is shown in profile against a blue background with a sweet on her tongue.

The case states that Rihanna’s video copied the “composition, total concept, feel, tone, mood, theme, colours, props, settings, decors wardrobe and lighting” of his work.

A spokeswoman for the singer was not immediately available for comment.
