MTV have recently revealed the first batch of performers for this year’s Video Music Awards, due to take place on 12th September. The line up includes chart toppers Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Katy Perry, Usher, Pink and 30 Seconds to Mars to celebrate. All of the guests are indeed part of the nominations for numerous awards that are up for grabs.

Jay-Z is up for Best Hip-Hop Video, whilst his hit duet anthem “Empire State of Mind” with newly wed- Alicia Keys, appears in three categories; Best Collaboration, Best Cinematography and Best Direction. Usher, is up for Best Male Video, Best Dance Music Video and Best Choreography. Whilst Pink gets two nominations in Best Direction and Best Editing and Katy Perry is up for Best Female Video and Best Pop Video.
It will be interesting to see who wins what at the star studded event. Who do you think deserves to win?

Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys tie the knot!!!

The couple had their ceremony with a small gathering of family and friends and celebrated their new marriage and their baby on the way, aboard a 260-foot yacht on the Mediterranean Sea, near Sardinia’s exclusive Costa Smeralda enclave.

Alicia reportedly wore Vera Wang and Swizz wore Tom Ford and Louboutin shoes. STUNNING!!!

Just over a year ago, rumours were rife as both Rihanna and Drake where spotted at LUCKY STRIKE LANES & Lounge in NY, and spent most of the night locking lips and later heading off at the end of the night….apparently.

The next day this picture (above) circulating the internet, sparking all the gossip blogs to say Drake was Rihanna’s rebound. Are there any connections? Leave your thoughts!!

Alicia Keys held her annual London ‘Black Ball’ for her organization ‘Keep A Child Alive’, which provides care and support to orphans and those affected by AIDS in Africa and India.

The event included an intimate cocktail party, live auctions, a seated dinner and an awards ceremony to honor humanitarians who actively use their fame to save lives devastated by AIDS.

Accompanied by fiance Swizz Beatz and other celebs for the night included Tinchy Stryder, Jade Ewan, Tinie Tempah, JLS, Katie Price with husband Alex Reid, Thandie Newton, Kasbian, Sol Campbell and designer Christian Louboutin.

In related news Alicia and Swizz “are expecting a baby and are engaged to be married in a private ceremony later this year,” reps for the couple confirm to PEOPLE. It will be the first marriage for Grammy-winner Keys – and their first child together.

Florence & The Machine, Dizzee Rascal, Tine Tempah, Ellie Goulding, 30 Second To Mars, Kelly Rowland, MGMT and Justin Bieber are a few names to add to the list but music and royalty meshed this weekend as Prince William and girlfriend Kate Middleton were spotted enjoying sets from Ellie Goulding and Tinie Tempah.

Today was Day 2 and had performances from the likes of Rihanna, JLS, Ke$ha, Jason Derulo, Marina And The Diamonds, Pendulum, Paramore, Pixie Lott, Vamire Weekend and Paolo Nutini.

Watch Drake and his special guests Nicki Minaj, Soulja Boy and Nipsey Hussle perfrom at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.

Drake confirmed to screaming fans that ‘Fireworks,’ which is track number one off his debut album ‘Thank Me Later’ will be a collaboration with Alicia Keys!!!

Alicia Keys has said she finds it ‘crazy’ her music will feature in the new Sex And The City 2 movie because she is a massive fan of the series.

Keys has three songs on the sequel soundtrack – Empire State Of Mind (Part II) Broken Down, Empire State Of Mind with rapper Jay-Z and a cover version of the Blondie classic Rapture.

Alicia goes on to say: “First of all it’s so crazy how my song hypes the whole movie. I’m really excited about it. I’m a huge Sex And The City fan.”

Alicia added: “I am very blessed to have my own Sex And The City moment. Then I even got to see the movie first. I can’t say too much but I can say it’s funny and fun and entertaining.” Check out the movie trailer below :
