Lady Gaga wore her controversial meat outfit at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles last night and swept up as she was nominated for a record 13 awards and took home an amazing 8 trophies at the awards ceremony!!
When accepting the main award ‘ which was presented to her by Cher ‘ an emotional Gaga said: “I was so nervous tonight that I’d let my fans down. ”I promised that if I won this tonight, I’d announce the name of my new record.” She then went on to tell the excited crowd her new album would be called ‘Born This Way’, before singing part of the title song.

Gaga also won an award for Best Pop Video, Best Female Video and Best Collaboration ‘ for her ‘Telephone’ duet with Beyonce Knowles ‘ and she thanked her fans for their support : “Tonight, little monsters, we’re the cool kids at the party.” Other winners at the show ‘ which was held at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater and was hosted by Chelsea Handler ‘ included Eminem, Justin Bieber and Jay-Z and Alicia Keys.

Breakthrough Video – The Black Keys ‘ Tighten Up
MTV have recently revealed the first batch of performers for this year’s Video Music Awards, due to take place on 12th September. The line up includes chart toppers Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Katy Perry, Usher, Pink and 30 Seconds to Mars to celebrate. All of the guests are indeed part of the nominations for numerous awards that are up for grabs.
Jay-Z is up for Best Hip-Hop Video, whilst his hit duet anthem “Empire State of Mind” with newly wed- Alicia Keys, appears in three categories; Best Collaboration, Best Cinematography and Best Direction. Usher, is up for Best Male Video, Best Dance Music Video and Best Choreography. Whilst Pink gets two nominations in Best Direction and Best Editing and Katy Perry is up for Best Female Video and Best Pop Video.
It will be interesting to see who wins what at the star studded event. Who do you think deserves to win?

The couple had their ceremony with a small gathering of family and friends and celebrated their new marriage and their baby on the way, aboard a 260-foot yacht on the Mediterranean Sea, near Sardinia’s exclusive Costa Smeralda enclave.

Alicia Keys held her annual London ‘Black Ball’ for her organization ‘Keep A Child Alive’, which provides care and support to orphans and those affected by AIDS in Africa and India.
The event included an intimate cocktail party, live auctions, a seated dinner and an awards ceremony to honor humanitarians who actively use their fame to save lives devastated by AIDS.
Accompanied by fiance Swizz Beatz and other celebs for the night included Tinchy Stryder, Jade Ewan, Tinie Tempah, JLS, Katie Price with husband Alex Reid, Thandie Newton, Kasbian, Sol Campbell and designer Christian Louboutin.
In related news Alicia and Swizz “are expecting a baby and are engaged to be married in a private ceremony later this year,” reps for the couple confirm to PEOPLE. It will be the first marriage for Grammy-winner Keys – and their first child together.
